In early 2009 Jayex was contacted by staff at Exmouth Community College who were looking for display technology that would enable them to broadcast up-to-date information to visitors, colleagues and students throughout the campus. Ideally, they wanted central control of content but with the facility to show different information at each screen location. Further, they wanted a system that allows limited access to input information onto individual local displays, i.e. a receptionist should have access rights to be able to update a message on their local screen but without being able to change the main content.
After a site visit from a Jayex digital signage consultant, the College purchased four 40inch LCD screens, digital signage software, a publisher and media players which were installed by Jayex engineers at four key locations around the campus.
The site was up and running within two hours enabling the college to show information from their website onto the screens. They also plan on showing a RSS Newsfeed, Videos and have the option to broadcast live TV.
